Which Plastic Bottles Are Safe?
Remember 2-4-5.You've probably heard that the chemicals in some plastics leach into water. Here's the scoop.
- Look on the bottom of the bottle. Water bottles made of #2, #4, and #5 plastics are fine.
- Most bottled water comes in #1 plastic. They are recommended for one time use. Don't refill them.
- If you're buying a reusable water bottle, don't buy the colorful hard plastic ones with #7 on the bottom. They may leach chemicals. Bottles that have a #7 on the bottom and also say BPA free are safe.
